Unless you have very specific requirements which the Mail app doesn’t meet, we don’t see a reason to use a different email client. The Mail app is intuitive, capable, and it’s right instantly available on every Mac computer. OneNote and OneDrive do not require a Microsoft 365 subscription, but some premium features may require a Microsoft 365 subscription. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook require a Microsoft 365 subscription to activate.
The Office apps available from the Mac App Store provide the very latest version of Office on the Mac. I've read that there's supposed to be a Store button on the Home ribbon. I'm using an Office 365 subscription on my MacBook. The experience and functionality are very similar between platforms which make it easy for me to switch between them and still be productive. Great app, but isolated from iOS I really like the integration of the outlook app with Outlook on my Windows 10 PC, OWA and my Mac.
